It Is A New Year
In with the new out with the old. Is that not how
we should bring in the New Year? Well the same
should be done with our makeup. This is the year to
start fresh and reinvent ourselves. Let us create
some organization in our lives and in our look. Our
current makeup is great if we are happy with it and it
is fresh. Otherwise it has to go! Just like a bad
thought!
Do you know that makeup expires? Well it does.
The rule of thumb is to follow your senses. If
makeup looks, feels, or smells good, then keep it.
Otherwise throw it out. Here are some guidelines for
the usage life of your makeup. Let us start with
mascara. In most cases mascara is good for 3 to 6
months. But the minute you notice the smell of it, I
suggest throwing it out. Concealer, eye shadow,
and eye creams are good for 1 year. Foundation,
lipstick and moisturizers are good for 1 to 1 ½ years.
Powder for your face and powder blush, are good for
2 years. Remember if you have a cold sore or the
flu, cut off the top piece of the product in order to
prevent future sickness. It is important to keep this
in mind if you are prone to cold sores. I suggest
using a lip brush; therefore you can clean the brush
between uses. This will also help keep your
application neat.
Women love new things and we deserve them! Now
is the time! Go out and look for your next product.
Look for new makeup that works for you. If a
product does not look good for your skin type, or skin
color, then I say do not use it. No matter how
pretty that product looks in the store or on someone
else. Always trust your initial instinct! Ask a friend;
trust their initial reaction because that is usually the
truth. Don't be afraid to try something new to treat
yourself. Inside we know what looks great, and what
feels right. So go for it!
Don't be afraid of change. It is good. Without
change the world stops. With change the world has
a heartbeat, and so will you. We have to live life to
the fullest. Show off your new look for the New
Year! If you feel beautiful, then you will look
beautiful. That's what it is all about ladies! Happy
